Our professional installation team recently completed a luxury vinyl flooring installation for a client in Bellbrook, Ohio and we wanted to share a couple pictures from the installation. Pictured above is the luxury vinyl installation on the client's stairs. This client chose to install the same floor throughout a large portion of their home including their living room, dining room, bathroom, bedrooms, stairs, and hallway. Installing the same floor throughout a home is a popular choice for consumers right now and gives a consistent, visually pleasing appearance in a home's open areas.
Type of Floor
The product installed was a luxury vinyl plank (LVP) floor from Shaw called Endura Plus (color Tawny Oak). This waterproof floor is perfect for busy households like our client's. The floor has a 12 mil wear layer, SPC core, attached pad, and 30 year residential warranty. We keep Shaw Endura Plus Tawny Oak in-stock at our flooring stores in Clayton, Ohio and Springboro, Ohio. Stair Installation
As you can see, the luxury vinyl was installed on both the top (tread) and riser (front) of the stairs. A stairnose transition trim that matches the flooring style and color was used at the nose of each stair. We used plywood to build out the riser so the luxury vinyl on the riser would be flush with the stairnose used on the lip of the stair. This is an often overlooked part of luxury vinyl stair installation but we make it part of our stair installation process as it creates a uniform look and finishes the stairs nicely. This client had the same luxury vinyl installed on the landing at the top and bottom of the staircase so, from a design perspective, it made the most sense and looks the best to continue the luxury vinyl on all of the stairs.
Luxury vinyl can be installed on top of the stair subfloor or even hardwood if it has been installed on the stairs previously. Carpet on stairs will need to be removed prior to luxury vinyl installation.
